Description

Take one part pop sensibility, mix in generous amounts of punk 'DIY' spirit, add a dose of attitude and you have the ingredients for one of L.A.'s hottest bands, THE CONDORS. Featuring vocalist/guitarist Pat (Pooch) DiPuccio, drummer Jay Nowac, bassist Mark Hodson, & gutartist/backing vocalist Dirk Dierking. THE CONDORS have built a reputation for delivering high-energy rock & roll to the faithful. Pooch, of FLIPSIDE Fanzine fame, and formerly in L.A.'s legendary Blow Up, has several solo releases and movie soundtracks to his credit. Before forming THE CONDORS with Pooch, Jay pounded the skins for the bands The Longnecks and Big Wow. Mark, (aka 'Father Speed'), bassist extraordinaire (ex- Saccharine Trust, The Fontanelles among others) adds his signature style to the band, and Dirk's solid playing and booming backing vocals bring a powerful harmonic and melodic touch. Their combination of instrumental prowess and tough, gritty vocals help give THE CONDORS a dynamic live sound.

The band is in the midst of playing a series of live dates throughout the Western U.S. and has released their ctitically acclaimed debut CD, "TALES OF DRUNKENNESS AND CRUELTY," on Vital Gesture Records, produced by Tony Fate (of The Bellrays) and engineered by Steve Refling (Cockeyed Ghost, The Excessories). They also contributed a live cut to the ORANGE SPOT SESSIONS, VOL.3, a compilation CD available on Orange Peal Records.
